Netflix Picks Up ‘Horrid Henry’s Gross Day Out’

Novel Entertainment has announced that its animated special "Horrid Henry's Gross Day Out" will debut on Netflix globally. 

Netflix will debut the film in the U.K. on Sept. 17 before launching international later this year. The agreement with Netflix was made with Novel Entertainment and video-on-demand distributor The Movie Partnership. 

"Horrid Henry's Gross Day Out" is written and produced by Novel Entertainment's Lucinda Whiteley and executive produced by Mike Watts, with Gary Andrews as the animation director, Jim Andrews as the editor and music composed by Lester Barnes. The special feature introduces Whiteley's new characters to the "Horrid Henry" world in the form of the Gross Class Zero superheroes. 

Gross Class Zero features five Grossers leading double lives as students at and top-secret agents. Under the watchful eye of their teacher, Miss Nesta Clutterbuck, they work to achieve their mission of saving the universe with a unique combination of common sense, no-nonsense know-how and sheer grossness.

"We look forward to showcasing Henry in this longer-form content, which enables us to expand his world and adventures even more. This is the first in a series of one-hour ‘Horrid Henry’ specials."  

In addition to the animated special, Novel Entertainment has released a slate of new offerings under the "Horrid Henry Unlocked" banner, designed to offer fans a reassuring environment during the current crisis. Offerings include a recently launched "Horrid Henry" podcast, a program of daily activities for children available free on the "Horrid Henry" website, and more than 150 new pieces of content live-streamed on the "Horrid Henry" YouTube channel.
